Andrew S. Goodstadt is a Partner at Thompson Wigdor &
Gilly LLP. Mr. Goodstadt has extensive experience representing both employers and individual employees in the litigation, arbitration and mediation of a wide range of labor and employment disputes, including employment discrimination, sexual harassment, civil rights, breach of contract claims and disputes arising from collective bargaining relationships. He also has drafted and helped implement employee handbooks, human resources manuals and other corporate personnel policies, and has educated and provided training to employers and supervisors on topics such as sexual harassment, hiring, and employee discipline and terminations.
Mr. Goodstadt also has extensive experience in executive compensation matters, and has negotiated and drafted complex employment arrangements and separation agreements on behalf of numerous corporations and senior-level executives. He also regularly negotiates and drafts covenants not to compete and nonsolicitation, confidentiality and nondisclosure agreements.
Prior to joining Thompson Wigdor & Gilly, Mr. Goodstadt practiced law in the labor and employment group at Proskauer Rose LLP, one of the most prominent management-side labor and employment law firms in the world. While at Proskauer, among other matters, Mr. Goodstadt assisted in representing professional sports leagues in labor disputes with their players, referees and umpires.
Mr. Goodstadt also practiced at the Law Offices of Joseph E. Bachelder, the preeminent executive compensation law firm in the country, where he participated in the negotiation and drafting of employment and separation arrangements on behalf of corporations and numerous top corporate executives.
Mr. Goodstadt received his undergraduate degree from the University of Michigan, and his Juris Doctor cum laude from Brooklyn Law School. Mr. Goodstadt was an editor of the Brooklyn Law Review, and a member of the Brooklyn Law School Moot Court Honor Society and a finalist of the Robert F. Wagner National Labor Law Competition. Mr. Goodstadt is admitted to practice in both New York and New Jersey, and has practiced in federal and state courts, before the National Labor Relations Board and in arbitrations and administrative proceedings. |
